]]> June is LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, and this event is celebrated internationally. This week, after work, I watched a remarkable and very moving documentary at the public library : “Little Girl.” As you may know, I write fiction, which doesn’t mean I’m not interested in people’s lives or what challenges society. This documentary is a portrait of a child whose wish, from the age of four, is to be considered a girl, even though she was born in a boy’s body. She faces obstacles but is very supported by those around her. This portrait, almost like a biography, makes us think and sheds light on gender dysphoria from a child’s perspective, a subject more often discussed by adults. The documentary doesn’t follow a series of shots; it’s more of a chronological narrative with key moments and an evolution toward a less conflicted situation. This documentary is a true story, and the film lasts just over an hour.
